Shopping for a hot tub can be fun. As you browse the different models, decide on the jet configuration that will deliver your ideal massage, and select a cabinet color to complement your backyard space, the excitement builds. You can barely wait to set up your hot tub and immerse yourself in warm, bubbling water! But before making the final decision, most shoppers ask this question. What will it cost to operate my hot tub?
When budgeting for a hot tub, it’s important to consider monthly energy costs. An efficient and well-insulated hot tub can save a homeowner thousands of dollars over the life of the hot tub, so it’s an important purchase consideration.
California Energy Commission compliant hot tubs protect the environment and save you money.
At Bellagio Spas , we don’t compromise when it comes to energy efficiency. Each of our hot tubs meets the most stringent energy standards established by the California Energy Commission (CEC). Every aspect of your spa’s construction - insulation, heaters, pumps, and even our spa covers - work together to keep your spa water hot, and your energy bills low.
Often the best place to research the cost of owning a hot tub is from actual owner reviews. Consider what these Bellagio Spas owners have to say about the energy efficiency of their Bellagio Spas hot tub: " I live in Reno which is very cold during the winter and I keep my spa at 101 degrees year around with very little difference on my electric bill. I use my tub daily and would highly recommend a Bellagio Spas to anyone who is in the market for a spa. "
We’ve concentrated on bringing energy efficient design and innovation to all aspects of a spa. We’ve looked at each and every component from the cover to the pumps to see how we can make improvements. We recognize that energy efficiency is more than just an environmental concern. It’s a performance advantage that can have a huge impact on a hot tub's monthly operating costs, including the cost to run your hot tub during winter months.
These key hot tub components work together so Bellagio Spas owners save energy and money.
We’re especially proud of the innovation that resulted in our exclusive Hybrid Electric Heat Pump and hot tub heater in our Bellagio spas. Many spas run jets throughout the day to circulate water and bring the water back up to a set temperature, but that cycling process uses a great deal of energy.
The Hybrid Electric Heat Pump operates continually at very low wattage, maintaining the temperature you’ve set so that the spa is always ready to use while actually reducing heater use. That’s because 80 percent of the energy used to operate the pump is transferred to the water as heat. It’s a small but efficient change that adds up to substantial savings over time.
Energy costs vary from place to place, depending where you live. Average daily temperature is also a factor in calculating monthly energy costs. And of course, your Bellagio Spas hot tub will use more energy when it is in use than when it is idle. Hot tub massage jets turn off when your hot tub is not in use. The more you use your hot tub the higher your electricity costs will be.
You should expect that your electricity bill for running a hot tub in winter months, especially in colder climates, will go up. This is another of the many reasons we put such a concentration on engineering products with hot tub insulation that works to keep the heat in your hot tub from dissipating into the environment.
Many Bellagio Spas owners report that in using their hot tubs an average of once a day, 6 days a week while making sure they properly recover their spa when finished, that their electric bills did not rise more than $20 per month.
We believe we’ve created some of the most energy efficient hot tubs on the market today, and we’re proud to offer a performance advantage that benefits you month after month, year after year.
